Bleav in Nebraska: Pulse of Husker Fans and Volleyball's Big Week with Jack Mitchell

Jack Mitchell, host of the popular Bleav in Nebraska podcast, joins the show to discuss the latest with Husker football and volleyball.

The Huskers are coming off a tough loss to Purdue, but Mitchell says there's still plenty of reason for optimism.

"I think the biggest thing is that they're still in the race for the Big Ten West," Mitchell said. "They need to win out, but it's still possible."

Mitchell also praised the play of quarterback Casey Thompson, who has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

"He's been a great addition to the team," Mitchell said. "He's a leader, and he's got a lot of talent."

The Huskers volleyball team is ranked No. 1 in the country, and they're off to a 10-0 start this season.

"They're playing really well right now," Mitchell said. "They're a lot of fun to watch."

Mitchell said he's particularly impressed with the play of outside hitter Madi Kubik, who is averaging over 5 kills per set this season.

"She's one of the best players in the country," Mitchell said. "She's a big reason why the Huskers are so successful."

Mitchell also talked about the upcoming Big Red Blitz, which is a fan event that will be held on October 29th in Lincoln.

"It's a great opportunity for fans to meet the players and coaches," Mitchell said. "It's also a lot of fun."

Mitchell said he's looking forward to covering the Huskers football and volleyball teams for the rest of the season.

"I think both teams have a chance to be really successful," Mitchell said. "I'm excited to see what they can accomplish."
